I Just Don't Understand...

There are so many things in this world that we can not understand. Why do things happen?Or what goes through someone's mind when they do something they know is wrong? As a writer I feel I need to ask those questions. I need to seek out the answers and try to make sense of it.They say knowledge is power, but if that's so,why do smart people do such stupid things? If they know right from wrong (and most people do),then why do they still do it?You're probably wondering where I am going with all this right and wrong talk,so let me explain.I just can't understand how anyone could hurt another human being, especially a child. How can anyone be so cruel and mean?Sadistic and heartless? What do these innocent little children do that is so horrible?Everyday you see the news reports and headlines in the papers of missing children (most of whom are found murdered senselessly).Stories of child abuse so bad that the child either suffers for the rest of their lives or are murdered by their own parents. And what about our justice system that lets these cowards walk free?(Like Casey Anthony) Poor little Caylee didn't deserve what she had to suffer at the hands of her own mother. And then we have little Ailianna Lemmon who was just savagely murdered for no reason at all. I don't think I will ever understand any of this!!!

Christmas:Past and Present

Christmas has always been a big deal in my family. From the time I was born the whole family would gather at my grandparents house to celebrate.Every Christmas Eve we would all sit around the tree (and anywhere else we could,HUGE family) to open all our gifts. We would talk and laugh, sing carols and be happy.  I would wake up on Christmas morning to the wonderful smells of turkey, cookies, and pies.My grandmother was the best cook in our entire family! We all waited impatiently to taste her Christmas dinner. It isn't the same without her. Now I go to my sister's and spend the holidays with the loves of my life.( My nieces and nephew) The looks on their faces when they open those packages-PRICELESS!Alot of things have changed in the last few years, but Christmas will always hold a special place in my heart!!!

What writing means to me

Writing to me is an outlet for my feelings. It's an escape from all the everyday struggles in my life. It's my way of expressing myself to others. It's my way of communicating with others outside my family. My writing is a source of joy and pain.Heartbreak and happiness.Inspiration comes for my writing from alot of places.I am inspired by what others do,say,or how the feel.I also get inspiration from television, books, songs, and people in my life. Writng to me is my life!

Looking for a good read

Whenever I decide to read a new book I tend to go to the same authors again and again.I love to read them over and over.My most favorite book is "Sugar Baby" by Karen Young.I have read it fourteen times. It's one of those can't -put-down nailbiters, that leaves you coming back for more.I enjoy her stories very much.I also like Jean Barrett's "The Hunt for Hawke's Daughter. One of my other favorites is "A Child Called "IT" by Dave Pelzer. One of my all-time favorite authors is James Patterson. His Alex Cross series leaves you craving more.If poetry is what I'm looking for I turn to Langston Hughes and Emily Dickinson.I also enjoy the works of such greats as Poe,Stienbeck,And Dickens. These are just some suggestions if you are looking for a good read.
