Poetry Through Tragedies

Today I'm going to share a poem I wrote for my aunt. We recently found out that she has cancer. She is a true fighter and inspiration! Enjoy!

"Beautiful"
A body filled with sickness and pain, aches and hurt take their toll.
More bad days than good, and still such a beautiful soul.
Through the gloom of it all, she fights to keep control.
She never gives up, takes it all in stride.
A born fighter, she doesn't care about her pride.
She remains beautiful through and through, even with the pain inside.

The Lovely Bones: A Review

Has there ever been a book that touched her heart so deeply that you wanted to just cry along with your favorite character? I recently got the chance to read The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. It is now one of my all time favorite novels. I couldn't put it down. I had watched the movie, excellent film, but not as good as the novel.
The Lovely Bones follows fourteen-year-old Susie Salmon as she tries adjusting to her new home in Heaven. Susie was tragically murdered by someone whom the neighborhood thought to be safe. While Susie watches from Heaven her family starts to unravel as they try to find her killer. As the clues unfold Susie wishes she could help them find the answers they seek.
This is an amazing novel. Full of  suspense, hope, and even joy, anyone will love this novel. It's  a definite page turner that you just have to finish.
