Life/Writing Update

Hello and welcome to the blog! I know I have gotten behind on posting lately. Sorry about that everyone. I have been having issues with my head and ears for almost three weeks. Today is the first day I have done any writing in over a week. That's not all that's been happening in my world.

I also have been going to school, working on homework, and taking tests. Two so far that I passed. Yay! I am super excited to be starting this journey in my life. Once I get my GED I plan to go to college and study Criminal Psychology. It won't be easy and will be a lot of work, but I'm excited to do it!

Then there's the words that need to be written. I finished Heart Of A Hero, which is the longest story I have ever written at just over 69K. I was in shock at the final word count for that one. I am now working on getting Rise Of The Undead finished before the deadline 4/30/26. I have been writing this one in a notebook so I have to copy it into the laptop lol. After this one I need to work on the stories for Ghostly Rites and Sinister Dreams.

As you can tell things have been super busy around here. They won't be slowing down any time soon. I am definitely going to try to post again next Wednesday. I need to keep my schedule going. Until next time... Happy Writing!

Keeping Track Of those Ideas

Hello and welcome to Cassandra's Writing World! This week I want to talk about the ways to keep track of those story ideas.

There are lots of ways to keep your ideas all together and organized. I have a notebook I carry around to write general ideas down in. I make a list of main characters and side characters. Character sheets are a must for me. They are so fun to create!

There are some people who like to take notes in notebooks or on their phones. You can even use a voice recorder to make a note of ideas or things you need to research. Some people love using Spreadsheets for this as well.

I also love to use index cards for note taking. And let's face it I am a total Post-It's Junkie! Or you can use a whiteboard for jotting down those plots and outlining. You can also use your camera to take pictures of scenes that might fit in your story.

What about those who like to see things in a more visual way? Are you one of those people who love to create Pinterest boards? (I know I do!) I also make storyboards on Canva. Then of course there's a series Bible you can create if you are working on that larger project. I've done that as well.

Every writer is different but the idea is always the same. Make sure all of our notes and ideas are in one handy place. You can create Google docs for this, or print stuff out and tape it to the wall. The possibilites are endless.

Here is one example of an idea board I did for The Blakes Series:

And a cover I did for the series Bible.

This is my way of keeping track of what order the stories go in.

Here's one I did for The Hunt For Amanda

It's fun to do these and I even do them for short stories. How about you? Are there any fun ways you like to keep those stories organized?
Well that's it for this week! Until next time Happy Writing and Later Days!
