Mental Health Matters: A Look Inside My Mind

Hello and welcome to my writing world! This week's post is just me winging it because I haven't scheduled or thought out any posts. There are a couple of reasons for that. One I have been writing (obviously lol) Heart Of A Hero is now 58, 500 words and still going. Plus I wrote another story to submit to a writing challenge. I need to work on Rise Of The Undead some more.

Two I have been reading a lot trying to catch up on ARC's. I now have one more to finish for this month and have already read part of it and one for next month. I am also rereading my first classic book for my reading challenge I am trying this year. I want to read one classic a month.

Reason number three, and possibly the most important one. This month has not been good for my mental health. There are several factors that are causing this issue. I am trying to get things set up to go back to school, but that's hard to do when schools are closed due to all of this snow. Then there are birthdays of loved ones no longer with us and death anniversaries of not only my cousin and aunt, but my mom and little sister. I was going to simply skip this week's blog. Instead I chose to let you have a peek into my personal life. I should probably do this more often, and I might start.

I don't normally talk about politics at all on any of my social media platforms. However our current state of this country has also been affecting my mental health, like a lot of others. I"ve tried to completely ignore what has been happening in the world due to anxiety issues. That wasn't easy to do when every single time I saw the news of logged into social media there were things about it.

Like a friend of mine said if you aren't mad about the state of our country, we are not the same. I completely agree with that statement. How can we not be concerned about what's going on in the world when we're sitting in our homes waiting to see what bad things will happen next? When there are lives being taken without remorse for no reason whatsoever? People are afraid of leaving their homes for fear of being gunned down on the streets.

And what about these so-called detention camps? I don't see them that way since they're not full of only illegal immigrants. There are also people who are American citizens being detained. They are eventually going to become concentration camps if this doesn't stop. I don't know about any of you, but I certainly don't want to see another Holocaust. I honestly feel like that's what this whole thing is building up to. The actions of the government and ICE are immoral at best. They don't care about the people they swore to take care of. They only care about hurting others.

Anyway, enough about all of that since it is only making me angry and I don't want this post to be too long. The real message I wanted to get across with this post is do what you need to do for your mental health. Take care of yourselves, talk to others who can help you, take breaks from social media and the outside world. Do what makes you feel better not worse. Just know that I am always a message or email away if you need a shoulder to lean on.

Sending virtual hugs to everyone in the world who needs them for whatever reason. Now I am off to get lost in a good book.

Pre-Orders and Upcoming Releases

Hello and welcome to the blog. Today I want to talk about two upcoming releases.

First up is the Books Of Horror Community Anthology Vol. 5, parts 1 and 2. This is a two volume anthology featuring 93 stories. My story Nightmare is in Part. 2

Available 1/23/26

Books Of Horror Vol. 5
Stories live within everyone, Stories that scratch and claw until they're finally unleashed into the world. Many contain horrors that no one should witness and slip into the ether, while others get remembered and immortalized in the pages of books. Take a journey and explore the horrors held within for your morbid delight.

Next up is the Pretty Little Slashers  Valentine's Anthology.  This one features my story Snapped and was supposed to release on Valentine's Day, however it is now up for pre-order and will be available 2/7/26

Pretty Little Slashers vol. 2
An all female anthology.
Behind the lipstick and lace, something ruthless waits.
Valentines Day isn’t just for love... It’s for vengeance.
It’s for every single woman who had been scorned and is sick of not being appreciated.

That's it for today. Until next time... Happy Reading!
