Catching Up On Things In My Writing World

First off let me start by saying... Happy Holidays!!! I know I haven't posted this month but things have been pretty busy, I guess that's par for the course this time of the year. What with shopping, wrapping, cooking and baking, and of course decorating!

I haven't let it all keep me from writing and reading though. I managed to beat my goal of 100 books for the year. I am currently sitting at 104 and still have 16 days to read.

As for writing I finished the first story for my six haunted paths collection. I also started my story for the Doors of Darkness Anthology and have it almost finished. As of right now I have managed to write 87,904 words for this year. Guess what, 2025 won't be any slower with writing. I plan to get these stories for anthologies finished and The Blakes Series as well.

Now I did get some bad news concerning my story I sent in for the Inanimate Things Anthology. While they loved the story it wasn't accepted for the book. Instead of letting that get me down I decided, hey, I'm going to make a short story collection about haunted/possessed dolls. I'm thinking it will be called Dolls Of The Dead. Of course that's still a working title since I have other stories to finish before I get to this one.

I will try to post again since I need to post all my reviews anyway. Until then... Later Days and Happy Writing/Reading!!!

Happy Thanksgiving! And a writing update too!

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? Happy Thanksgiving! I know everyone is getting ready for the big holiday tomorrow. What am I doing on this chilly November evening? You guessed it? Getting writing projects in order. I am also planning to write more on my story for the Doors Of Darkness 3: The Mall. I have to submit it and see if they accept it, but have to write it first. It's not due until the 31 of January so there's time. I also need to get my story for the Reach The Stars Anthology done as well. It's due the same day.

I have managed to do a good bit of writing this month. I made Revenge of the Clown even longer and sent it in to see if it will be published as a novella. Won't hear back about it until  the end of January. I also wrote the first story in the six haunted paths stories I had planned. It's called Echoes Of Madness.

What else do I have planned in the next few months. Well I am planning to write a story for the Echoes of the Mind Anthology and get something planned for Reign Of Terror. After that I have to get my story done for the Hayrides & Bonfires Anthology and then Holiday Spirit.

You're probably thinking to yourself, wow, she's got all her writing projects all planned out. I would have to say you're half right. I have them written down in order, but only a few of the stories are planned so far. I am going to put a list of everything i am going to be working on, not counting the other stories for the six haunted paths, and the Blake's series. I have them up until 2027.

2025

Doors Of Darkness 3; The Mall

Reach For The Stars

Echoes Of The Mind

Terror Reigns

Hayrides & Bonfires

Holiday Spirit

2026

Survival

Sinister Dreams

Midnight Bites

A Winter's Love

2027

Meant To Be Claimed

The Killing Spree

Into The Dark

That's how my writing life looks like for the foreseeable future. Now I am off to do some writing before I read a bit.

Later Days and Happy Writing!

A Mini Update

Well what am I up to this week you may ask? Getting things ready for the release party for Beautiful Darkness on October 30, 2024. I still have spots to fill for the party. I also need to make the banner and welcome posts, schedule all of them, and get my posts planned and scheduled. I will also be making a couple of promo posts for the anthology so I can use them in my takeover. I will be super busy this week and this weekend as well.

I also got behind on blog posts among other things due to another ear infection. I was doing good posting once a week until then. I need to update book reviews again as well. I will try to get them posted in the next couple of days.

How is everyone's spooky season going? Things have been kind of crazy here, but what's life without a little chaos? This post won't be too long and I apologize for that. Just wanted to update everyone on things. I will definitely making a post on the 30th for the anthology release. Oh, and we are hoping to get all the promo stuff done for Ghostly Rites 2024 this week, so most likely will have an update on the release date for it.

Until next time...

Happy Reading/Writing!

Happy October!

 First of all, Happy October!!!

Is everyone ready for spooky season? I sure am!!! I have been making Halloween decorations, watching horror movies, and reading scary books. I am so excited for this time of the year!

What else am I up to you may ask? This week has been super busy. With the release of the Malice Anthology on Monday and the release party, errands yesterday and today, and even more to do tomorrow. I need to go in the morning to try and get things set up for my GED classes. After that I have to schedule posts for a takeover on Friday, and of course do some writing.

I still have three stories to get finished between now and December 1st. Luckily they don't have to be that long so they shouldn't take much time to write. I am still working on research for the book about my hometown as well.

Now that Malice has been released into the book world there's only one more thing to do. Okay, so it's a bunch of little things for one reason. I now have to get things ready for the Beautiful Darkness Release party on October 30th. I have the Google Sheet done and there are some authors already signed up. Think I might wait until next week to really start on other things for it. Give myself a little mini vacation. ;)

For now I better get off here and get something else done. Until next time Happy Reading/Writing!!!

This Weeks Blog Post ( A Couple of days late!)

I know I am a couple of days late with this weeks post. Things have been rather hectic this week. I spent some time with my aunt who recently got out of the hospital. We watched some tv, talked, and did Diamond Art. I got some reading done, but no writing. The next few days will be busy with getting ready for the Malice Release party. I am super excited for this anthology to be released. It is probably one of my favorites that I have been a part of because I got to write in my favorite genre, Crime Fiction!

Anyhoo... I wanted to at least try and get a post made for this week. So, what should we talk about? How many books have you read this year? I'm up to 74 so far. I am enjoying doing all of these reading challenges. They have been a lot of fun!

I am going to be getting in some much needed writing this weekend as well. I have a few stories to get finished between now and the beginning of December. My writing schedule is super full. My schedule will be even fuller as soon as I get things set up to take my GED classes. Hopefully that will be sometime this upcoming week. (Like I need to add any more to my already full plate ;) )

For now I am going to get in my comfy pj's and relax for a bit. It's been a busy day. Until next time Happy Reading/Writing!!

TWO WEEKS!!! Two Weeks? Let's Get Busy Then...

You're probably thinking what in the world is up with the title of this blog post? There's a couple reasons for it I suppose. One I am literally going on like two hours of sleep right now, but that's not the main reason for it. Two weeks is an integral part of this writers life right now. What is about two weeks that's so special???? Well. here's an image to give you a clue.

Yep, that's right. In exactly fourteen days this anthology makes it's way out into the book world. I am going to be super busy getting everything together for the release party. I think I have all of the welcome graphics made, however I will most likely double and triple check. Also have the banner made as well. Now I still have to make the chat for the party, give mods to those who need to schedule, and schedule my posts and the welcome graphics. I also need to make a couple more promo posts for this one. Then after that we will be doing it all again for the Beautiful Darkness Anthology lol. And after that Ghostly Rites, and who knows what else with me. I do tend to stay pretty busy with my writing stuff so we'll see if I ever take a mini vacation or not. Hahahaha!
Well that's all this time around. Have a wonderful evening and Happy Writing!!!
Later Days!!!!

I'm a Little Behind... But!!!

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the blog! As you read in the title I am a little behind on things again. Been having earaches again and have to call the ear doc for an appointment. Now I am working on catching up with all things writing/reading.

I have three more writing projects in the plotting stages. Started writing one of them already. I have also gotten almost everything done for the Malice release party on the 30th. Will be getting ready for the Beautiful Darkness and Ghostly Rites releases as well. The next few months are going to be super busy so hopefully these earaches go away soon.

I am still working on reading for my reading challenges this year as well and have fallen behind on them as well. I will just toss in a few shorter books and kids books to catch up. I have so much to do lol! However, I'm not letting these earaches keep me down.

I am going to do some reading and writing in a bit. First I have to make some dinner. ;) I will definitely try to get a longer post next week. Until then... Happy Reading and Writing!

Book Reviews 2024 Part 3 (I know I am so behind on these)

As the title of this post states I am so behind on posting book reviews to the blog. Time to get at least a little bit caught up.

First we have Naughty & Nice by LM Fox

Trevor is looking for a fresh start, not a new relationship. Addison has other plans for the new firefighter in town. With terrific characters and a great storyline, this book was definitely worth the read! I loved everything about it!!

Next is Sailor Moon VOL 6 by Naoko Takeuchi

Sailor Moon was the first anime I started watching. I have been a fan for a long time. I absolutely love this series!

Third we have The Adventures of the Blue Boots by Nikolusha Kerner

Oh my gosh! What a cute and fun story! I really enjoyed this book!

Next is the Second Chances Anthology

These stories were inspirational and wonderful! Moving on from the bad is never easy, but we can do it, and these stories people can relate to. I loved all of the stories in this anthology.

After that we have Forbid Me Not by DV Fischer

One night is all it takes for these two to find what they both need. Avery and Reid can't possibly have a relationship without causing a while lot of problems. Can they overcome the odds and find true happiness?
Terrific characters and a great storyline make this one worth the read! A definite five star book!!! I love everything about this one!!!

Now we have a true classic Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

A classic I regret not reading a lot sooner. This book is about family and friends in hard times. It's about sisters being there for one another. It had everything that makes for a wonderful book!!! I love, love, love, love this story!

Breaking The Chains by Elizabella Baker is our next book this time around.

The 4th installment of the series lives up to the hype of the previous books. Blayd and Franni's story is amazing and Gia is the perfect addition to their story! Plenty of action and surprises will leave you reading late into the night.

Now we have Resolute Bodyguard by Leslie Marshman

Book four in the Protectors of Boone County, Texas is as amazing as the rest of the books!! Nate, the only sibling not in law enforcement is suddenly hired to be a bodyguard to someone from his past he never thought he would see again. Sara decides to take a new job in Resolute only to realize she has a big problem. Nate and Sara, along with rest of the Reed clan have to stop an unseen evil. I absolutely loved this story! An absolutely perfect addition to the series!

Our next to the last book this round is Bluey: The Pool

A cute little story that kids will love. A book parents can enjoy a long with their kiddos.

And finally we have Young Fae by Annamarie Gardner

This story captured my attention from the start. Asha learns who she really is and must face an evil she never imagined existed. With Draven and their friends to help can they make it through? An absolutely wonderful story! A quick read that is well worth the time!

Weekly Blog Post and a few updates

Once again I am going to try to post a new blog at least once a week, maybe two times if there are reviews to post. Things will be busy for me the next few months, so we'll see if I can stick to this schedule. Plus it's always a pretty tough time for me mentally from September until January. This year I am going to try not letting it get me down by focusing on my writing and other author stuff that needs done. Who knows maybe I'll finally figure out how to send those pesky newsletters?

Starting September 3rd I have things that I need to get done. Three books need to be read and reviewed between the 3rd and 17th. I also have the deadline for Ghostly Rites on the 30th, plus the release and release party for the Malice Anthology. That means I need to get promo posts made for both stories/anthologies and need to make sure to schedule social media posts and takeovers. The 1st of October is the deadline for the Clown Off Challenge. That story is almost finished.

I should hear back from Dolls In The Attic anytime between now and October. So have to check emails in case my story is accepted. And then on the 30th of October Beautiful Darkness Vol. 3 will be released. Another set of promo posts that need to be made. And maybe a Halloween event on the 31st? I also need to get a schedule put together so I'll remember all of this stuff LOL.

I will be making one more blog post in a bit for reviews. It will be posted either later tonight or in the next couple of days, probably the latter. Just going to have it ready to post. For now I need to go and get things done. A four-day migraine didn't help my schedule any. Until next time....

Happy Writing and Later Days!!!

Beautiful Darkness Vol. 3 Featured Author and more

Hi everyone! How's the writing/reading life treating you all? I can't complain myself. First as the title of this post says I have news about the Beautiful Darkness  Vol. 3 Anthology. I heard back from them and they accepted my story Into The Night. The anthology will be released on October 30,2024/

We are also having a Facebook Release Party on September 30, 2024 for the Malice Anthology with some pretty cool authors stopping in to have fun.

I am also going to be a part of another anthology called Hayrides & Bonfires A Charity Anthology releasing in 2025. I'm super excited for this one since I love spooky season and all that goes with it. Also planning stories for some other anthologies and finishing up Revenge Of The Clown.

Now an update on my reading time. I have been doing the Indie Author Challenge to read 36 books by Indie Authors this year and the 100 Book Challenge. I'm not doing to bad on either challenge. And then the 24 In 24 Challenge to read 24 book I already own in 2024. I am currently at 16 for that one. I'm at 24 for the Indie Author Challenge and 65 for the 100 Book Challenge.
I am going to update reviews for the year on here soon. Once I get a minute to do that lol. Until then Later Days!!! Happy Writing/Reading!

Just An Update On Writing... and maybe a little more!

I know it's been a while since my last post. I have been extremely busy after I got over an ear infection. There was also already one family reunion in July for my dad's side of the family (his dad's side), and tomorrow will be the one for his other side of the family (my grandma's side) unless it rains. Writing has also been keeping me busy as well.

House of Nightmares has been edited and sent off for the Ghostly Rites Anthology. I heard back from Terrorcore Publishing about the Dolls In The Attic Anthology. It was only to let me know they received the story and will be in contact if they can't access the file or tell me whether it accepted or not. I should hear back about that around September 15th.

I finished making Running From The Past longer, and renamed it, Whispers From The Grave. I had planned to send it in for another anthology, but when I sent it I got a message saying the site couldn't be found. So, currently looking for somewhere else to submit it and if I can't do that I'll just publish it as a short story.

I am now working on getting Revenge Of The Clown finished. Then I am going to work on another story that will be due in December. It hasn't even been planned yet so can't starting writing until I have at least characters and a plotline. I am going to try to get one done for a Christmas Anthology as well if I have time.

What else have I been doing in my author life? Well I have made a list of all of the anthologies I have been in along with the dates they were published. I also made one for stories to make longer and stories to finish. I'm hoping it keeps me more organized. I have also been doing a bit of reading. I am at 60 books out of 100 for my yearly challenge.

I guess that's about it for now. I need to get some writing done on this story if I want to get it finished. Until next time...

 Later Days and Happy Writing!

What's Up In My Writing World?

What's up in my writing world? That's what I'm here to share today. I have some great news to share as well as a writing update.

First the news update. My story The Seventh Woman was accepted for the Malice Anthology.  I am so excited to be a part of this one. The anthology will be available in September and I will share more details when they're available.

Now for the writing update. Into The Shadows had been sent into the Beautiful Darkness Anthology. I will hear back about it in a couple of weeks. I am still working on Revenge of the Clown. I still have until October to finish it. I am going to start planning the next story that needs to be done as well.
House of Nightmares is now finished. I have to get edits done and send it off for the Ghostly Rites 2024 Anthology. I also made a teaser to send in with it for the book trailer. Today has been quite productive.
Now I am off to get some more done. Until next time Happy Writing and Later days!

This book has it all love and happiness, sadness and heartbreak. A wonderful start to a series I can't wait to read more of.

Bed Of Roses by DV Fischer is up now

Tegan moves to a new place for a fresh start, Cole wants to keep to himself and forget his past. What happens when the two are thrown together? An absolutely amazing story with wonderful characters! And the surprise twists at the end will leave you rooting for Tegan and Cole to come out on top. I loved everything about this story!!!

Then we have Thin Black Road by Julie C. Gilbert

These poems were great! A quick read but definitely worth it!

Our next to last book this round is The End Of August Part One by Rue Volley

August East moves to a new town where he meets a small group of kids who turn out to be his new friends. Keller West is only try to be what everyone expects him to be, hiding how he truly is. This book had me hooked from the beginning. The characters are all amazing! I can not wait to read part two!!

And our final book this time is Marked For Revenge by Delores Fossen

The fourth installment in the Silver Creek Lawmen:Second Generation is just as amazing as the rest of the series! Harley and Ava have to overcome past troubles and try to move on all while trying to find a killer. Hidden secrets, surprise twists, and wonderful characters make for a terrific story!!

That's it for now, but don't worry there's plenty more to come. I have read 50 books out of 100 for my yearly challenge.

Until next time... Happy Reading!!!

Just A Writing Update

Hey ya'll! Just dropping by with a writing update.

I have gotten The Seventh Woman and Screams In The Night sent in for the Malice and Dolls In The Attic Anthologies. I should hear back about The Seventh Woman a week after the deadline. (June 31, 2024) and Dolls In The Attic around September 5th, 2024.

Into The Shadows for the Beautiful Darkness Anthology is finished and ready to send in. Just waiting until a little  closer to the deadline. House Of Nightmares for the Ghostly Rites Anthology 2024 is almost finished as well. I have also started writing more on Revenge of the Clown.

Today has been spent doing some planning on The Blakes series. I am having a wonderful time writing those books, but it would be better if I stopped doing so many anthologies in between lol. Yeah, like that's ever going to happen. I have an addiction to anthologies ;)

I have also done more research on the book about my hometown this week and made some promo posts for some of my stories. I am about to do a little more writing on House Of Nightmares, and of course some reading.

I hope everyone is having a terrific June. Until next time...

Happy Writing and Later Days!!!!

Vixens Of Horror Anthology Release

Today was are showcasing the release of the Vixens Of Horror Anthology

Vixens of Horror: Vintage Edition is a collection of stories focused on women living in the 1950s who suffocated under a sea of oppression only to find their voice through channeled rage. These stories are written by some of the strongest women I’ve met in our community, who have built their own empires through hard work, dedication, and pure grit.

Some of the authors are making their debut and sit among examples of what it takes to be a woman writing in Horror today. It is my hope to continue bringing collections that touch on serious subjects with a tongue-in-cheek approach. Horror is designed to make the reader uncomfortable, so be prepared to squirm. They say beauty is skin deep, but we’ll be digging deeper for the squelch and juiciest parts.

In This Moment Blog Tour

With the gossip mill a-buzzin,’ how is she supposed to keep her cool amid all the southern Georgia heat?

In This Moment

Heart of Vallantine Book 1

by Kelly Moran

Genre: Small Town Romantic Comedy

Southern drawls & y'alls. Come fall in love in the Heart of Vallantine!

It’s been ten years since Rebecca Moore left idyllic small town Vallantine for the big city and even bigger dreams of becoming an award-winning journalist. Her career a puff of smoke in her wake, she returns home for her grandmother’s funeral, grieving and with her life at a standstill. But her two childhood besties have a plan to restore the historic library to its former glory and convert part of it into a bookstore. It seems like so long ago residents had named their trio the “Bookish Belles,” yet nothing cures troubles like good friends and a purpose. The problem is, she needs a job until the renovations are complete, and just her luck, the new editor of the local newspaper is a Yankee. He’s also sullen, sanctimonious, and sexy. And with the gossip mill a-buzzin,’ how is she supposed to keep her cool amid all the southern Georgia heat?

Graham Roberts hasn’t exactly acclimated to the south. Yet, he moved for a purpose, and there’s no reason why he can’t help an old friend with a favor by hiring someone who is more than qualified. They could work side-by-side without complications. Right? Wrong. Bless her heart, Rebecca is the feistiest female on two legs with an innate ability to crawl under his skin faster than a hot knife through butter. Not to mention, she’s gorgeous as all get-out. Beneath her sass, though, is a girl who’s striving for acceptance and love. He’s just not certain he’s the right man. Plus, she’s given no promises to stick around. Worse, he’s starting to think falling for her may not even be a conscious choice. The heart wants what the heart wants. And between all of Vallantine gunning for their ever-after and Rebecca’s alluring charm sucking him in—again…and again—what chance does a guy stand?

Fans of Sweet Magnolias by Sherryl Woods and Virgin River by Robyn Carr will enjoy Heart of Vallantine.
