Book Lists

Today we are going to talk about book lists. I am a huge fan of book lists. There are lots of different lists that you can create. For example, your TBR list. (I know every bookworm has one of those.)
What other types of book lists can you create? Any your reader mind can come up with. You could have your ever-growing to be read list, or your already read list. Maybe you prefer to make a list of your favorite books? What about a list of books you want to read again?
The possibilities are pretty much endless as long as you set your mind to work. Challenge yourself to come up some unique book lists. Don't be afraid to get those creative juices flowing.
Here are some more examples of book lists:

List books by genre or author
A list of books referenced in a favorite movie or television show
Classic books you've never read
Books you read in school
Your favorite children's books
Books you wish you hadn't read or didn't like

Here's a short book list I have of new to me books I loved: (That means books I've read in the last few years)

1) All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
2) The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion by Fannie Flagg
3) Time Is A River by Mary Alice Monroe
4) Clandestine Christmas by Randi Alexander
5)  The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
6) Caleb's Crossing by  Geraldine Brooks
7) A Jinn's Seduction: Spanish Nights by Valerie Twombly
8) She's Got Dibs by AJ Nuest
9) Trancing The Tiger by Rachael Slate
10) Tainted by Lynn Rush
and there will be lots more added on later.

So, what are you waiting for? All you have to do is make the book list that suits you best. Have fun and let your imagination take flight.

Writing The First Novel: How The Hunt For Amanda Was Created

Hiya! I know I haven't had a new post in quite some time. That's due in part to lack of internet. How did I spend my time without internet access, you ask? Well the answer is simple. By working on my novel of course.
The Hunt For Amanda is now over 40,000 words. Take into consideration that when I lost internet access it was a mere 15,000. I'd say that's a pretty good improvement. And a pretty difficult thing to accomplish.
This novel has been a long time coming. Originally started in 2013. I completed that first draft in a month. After that came the task of finding a title. (Let's face it, I am so bad at that!) Then I had a few people beta read for me. I used their suggestions to improve the novel.
While trying to make changes I lost my computer. That meant my only way of writing was with good old fashioned pen and paper. It also meant doing the word count by hand. It was time consuming and tedious. But in the long run it has been well worth the effort I have put into this book. It has become my pride and joy and holds a very special place in my heart.
My advice to all the writers out there who face struggles like these every single day is: Never give up on your dreams or yourself. You can make it happen if you set your mind to it and keep moving forward in your writing life.
The Hunt For Amanda will soon be ready to go to the betas once again. I hope that everyone who reads it enjoys it and has as much fun reading it as I did writing it! Until next time... LATER DAYS!!!
